Soon that university got overloaded and in the year 1990 for region of Abbottabad, Abbottabad board was formed from the Peshawar board. This board was formed under the NWFP BISE ACT 1990.

This board is formed and there are many areas those come under the board those areas consist of remote areas. Jurisdiction of the board consist of Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Battagram and Kohistan comes under its jurisdiction covering an area of 17,194 square kilometers and having vast population of 3.47 million. This board has some main functions that is to conduct examination for 5 th,8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th class. These examination are conducted then students step in the professional life. Board also conducts examination for 5th and 8th class although these examinations are not compulsory but students attempt them to get knowledge about the pattern of board examination.

There are many institutes and colleges those are conducting examination. They are affiliated with the board some of them are private and other are government schools. Examination by the board for intermediate that is class 11th and 12th are conducted in the month of April and May. Students wait for results that will be declared in the month of august and September that time is very near. These forms are also provided online on the official website of the board.

After a month of registration students are provided with their roll number slips and date sheets so that students can appear easily in examination.
